Reliable RSVPs are half of stress-free team management. Set the expectation, attach a real deadline, and keep a calm script ready for the chronic non-responder. These three cover all of it, for any rec or adult league team.
How RSVPs work here. Please respond to every game and practice as soon as it's posted.
- Yes / No / Maybe: all three are useful. Only silence isn't.
- Deadline: [24 hours before] each event.
- Change of plans? Update your RSVP. Better late than a no-show.
Turn on notifications so a new event or a schedule change never slips past you.
Why the deadline matters. After [the RSVP deadline], I set the game-day roster and call up subs based on who's confirmed. If you haven't responded by then, I have to assume you're out, so a late Yes might mean there's no spot left that game. Two taps before the deadline keeps you in.
Hey [Name] — no worries at all, just checking in. I've had trouble getting a Yes/No from you for the last few games and it makes planning the roster tricky.
Are you still good to play this season? Totally fine either way. I just need to know whether to count on you or free up the spot for someone on the waitlist. If notifications are the issue, I can help you turn them on. Thanks! 🙏
